Meet Pamela Jackson
An Award-Winning Author
Pamela Jackson was born in Atlanta, Georgia and raised in the South. Before her senior year of high school her family moved to Maryland where she remained and attended The University of Maryland. She graduated with a B.A. in Communication Arts and Philosophy. As a senior in college she interned as a speechwriter. Shortly after graduation she moved back to Atlanta and worked writing copy for an advertising agency. As well, Pamela had farming in her blood and in the pursuing years, she also began to groom her farm which became known as Pamelot.
Always a prolific writer, she was teased as a child that she didn’t like to read because she was always writing her own stories instead. But, truth be told, books were her friends and still are today. Two of her favorite authors are F. Scott Fitzgerald and C. S. Lewis. Pamela’s greatest passion is Old Testament literature including the writings which were never canonized. Her writing is deeply influenced by the intellectual studies of her spiritual life.
Church is a familiar place for Pamela. She is the great-granddaughter of a Methodist minister, the granddaughter of a Presbyterian elder and the great-great niece of the Methodist minister and author, Sam Keen, well known for his literary works in the late 1800’s. Having grown up in the Bible Belt most of her friends were Southern Baptists, therefore she attended the Baptist youth group on Sunday evenings throughout her teenager years and she attended Catholic School which required her to go to Mass every Friday. In 2004, Pamela went into the ministry becoming a Local Pastor in the United Methodist Church. It was then she began to write about life inside the church.
In 2018 Pamela’s life took another turn and she expanded Pamelot Farm, which she had now lived on for 30 years, to included vineyards and a winery, called Painted Horse. In 2021 Pamela released her fourth book entitled My Life at Pamelot. Pamela's newest novel, which is due for release next year, is a complete 180 degrees from her typical novels. The novel she is currently working on is based on the largest embezzlement from a law firm in U.S. history, fraught with intrigue, corruption and sex.
Pamela and David continue to live at and run Pamelot Farm and Painted Horse Winery and Vineyards. Together they have ten children and four grandchildren.
